Transitioning from high school to college is a major lifestyle shift that can be both exciting and intimidating, but if you prepare for the hurdles ahead, it can help to ease the transition for you. Building a support system is extremely important in this new and likely much more independent time in your life; whether that’s parents/guardians, teachers, counselors, aunts/uncles, pastors, etc. Navigating the responsibilities that come with this level of independence is critical, so self-advocacy is important, as well as taking advantage of the academic resources available to you on campus.
