CORE Scholars Foundation, founded in 2003, is dedicated to awarding CORE RISE Financial Literacy Scholarships and providing education resources to Philadelphia graduating high school seniors and college, university, and trade school students. The Board of Directors partners with the Executive Director to provide leadership and governance of the organization.
Position Overview
– Dedicated to identifying education resources and opportunities for Philadelphia students
– Guide the organization’s strategic direction and ensure accountability
– Serve a two-year board term
Key Responsibilities:
– Attend quarterly board meetings and participate in committee work
– Provide strategic oversight and support to the executive team
– Advocate for CORE in the community and among stakeholders
– Assist with fundraising and networking efforts
Qualifications:
– Passion for furthering CORE’s scholarship mission
– Prior non-profit leadership or governance experience (preferred)
– Skills in finance, education, social media, technology, or marketing
– Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
